DCC and Fulgerex
Posted by pedromorgan on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 1:25 AM

Ok i think it looks like i bought the wrong decoder!

I am trying to drive 2 filgerex switch machines form the NCE switch it.

The trouble is they are designed for the tortoise machine.

Does anyone have a clever circuit to get around this problem?

Fulgerex is not sold in the U.S. so most of us don't know what you're talking about, but if they use a twin-coil type motor you definitely do not have the proper decoder.  A Switch-It is only for a stall-motor type switch machine that applies constant voltage.  The NCE Snap-It decoder is made to drive the solenoid switch machines.

Digitrax, CVP Products, and possibly Lenz and Zimo, also make decoders for twin-coil machines.
