Train Auction
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 1:24 PM

Hello, The Auction House handling my Great Uncle John's Estate decided to have a separate Auction for his Train Collection, since it is so large. Uncle John worked as a Engineer for the Railroad in Utah and always liked collecting things related to his work. The Auction site says there is over 450 lots and Trains from the 1920's to the 1970's. They have it set up so you can bid online, so I thought I would let the group know about it and include the links so you can take a look at it. Bidding Site- http://www.proxibid.com/asp/Catalog.asp?aid=6456&ipp=25 Main Auction Site- http://www.livingstonauction.com/ Thank You, Michael

Michael,

FYI: I'm afraid that this will fall under the auspices of advertising, which is strictly prohibited here on the forum.  You can find the rules listed in this MR forum policy link.  Sorry.

Michael, what you might be able to do is to remove the link and have folks either e-mail or PM (private message) you who are interested and you can provide the link to them privately.  This can be set up in your profile page - which it looks like you have already done.

I'd call it more of a "public notice" than an advertisement.  We have plenty of announcements of club shows, open houses, etc.  This doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

A brief look, though, shows that most of the lots (at least on the early pages) are apparantly O or S guage.  I'd suggest posting this on Classic Trains to get a better target audience.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
