Allegheny + Tsunami

I just got through installing a Tsunami heavy steam in my Allegheny. Sounds and runs great, still can't believe it worked the first time. I installed Kadee #58 couplers on the tender and the pilot but the one on the pilot is too low. I want to stay with the scale coupler, has anyone solved this problem or have any idea's. I wish it was that easy to put the Tsunami into my old Rivarossi Mallet. I gave up on trying to use the original tender and got a Bachman long vanderbilt tender as it picks up power from both rails. I will have to solder a 8-pin plug on the decoder and then wire between the engine and the tender. Hope it goes as easy as the Allegheny did. Thank's in advance! Jim
