Hi everyone
I posed this question in the prototype forum, but having received only one response - thanks balearic - I thought I might ask here.
Is anyone familiar with this B&M logo? I've been unable to find any photos with it. The boxcar's build date is 7-42 if I'm reading it right, so maybe it pre-dates most photos. Any information as to its usage and abandonment [assuming it is authentic] would be greatly appreciated.

Mike, B&M used several logos, this being one of them. Of course Guilford now own's B&M and they have now changed once again to PanAM. I have two box cars ( HO) with that same logo as your picture.
If you want to read up on more info, many B&M Bulletins are still available, and they have a host of info. You might find more info also on the web.
Hello there If you go to this site http://www.railpictures.net/index.php and then go down the page you can look up the Boston and Maine. I looked thru some of the 9 pages and they were mostly engines but you may find something you need. Kevin

I have checked nerail archives and railpictures, but I'll keep looking. Glad to know it's legitimate. Thank you all for the replies.
Regards,
I got to this from the Boston and Maine Historical Society site. It's an N-scale model:

(I don't know why it wouldn't come up in the [img] tags, but you can click the link, or cut and paste it.)
