I guess I will start it this week. I really enjoy looking at what everybodys done. Heres what I have done to my new layout. Working on the mountains right now. I still need to do some work on them but I havent had much time. I also need to clean my table up some as well.

Building the Rock Ridge Railroad with the slowest construction crew west of the Pecos.
I'm almost done with my GP30. I have to put the horn and whistle on and paint the numberboards and then decal them. It's sitting next to my Atlas 8-40CW also receiving southern paint, and my SD75M also going to be receiving southern paint in the near future. My sd90mac rpp shell is also sitting there.

Nice progress Robby. I have been mostly making mess this week also. All I made was trees and you have seen enough of them I am sure. I did run across these pics again. I will model this someday.
This week I scratched an ore separator house for the Rock Ridge Mine. Here's the prototype.
Here's my version with just the base paint coat. It is wood siding instead of steel.
We'll see how far i get this weekend.
I finally got around to do some preliminary detailing in Arock. This is just the start; however, there is now "people" activity at the Arock station.
Just finished up some more Lilliputians--they are going in front of the store.
Not much
Finished the DCC in all these
Hello all,
Added some more layers of weathering to my reefers.
And my grade crossing in progress, thumbs up to Walthers on the new Xing signals!

Why waste it on one of them? Paint one of the new SD70M-2 in a tux! Looks good smoke.

Chip, what is the material on the roof made of ?
Regards,
Tom
Chip, you are making great progress. I think that it often surprises people how many structures there actually are at a mine! Lots of scope for scratch-building and originality.
Here is a small scene I have been working on. I decided to have a small repair area with welders working on damaged mine equipment that had been brought to the surface for work.
I have been really trying to get to grip with my camera and following some of the expert advice from folks on the forum have been trying to really improve the depth of field in my shots.

It's a thick alluminum foil-type product that came in the original Muir Models Kit. It had corroded so I have less weathering to do.

What kind of maintenance truck is that in the backbround.
Kids on a class trip on their way to the ropeway.
The next two pictures are stills from a video taken with a pinhole camera "from the cab," so the focus isn't very good. Sorry about that.
Heading into the engine facility.
On the way out of town on the main line.

I've never really shared layout pics until now, partly because I'm new to the forum, and partly because the high level of skill I see here is a bit intimidating. None of my friends are railroaders, so the only people who've seen this layout are non-hobbyists. Anyway, I guess I'll take the plunge now. These are from a 15 x 29' layout that is about 90% complete (meaning that bare wood at least is gone) after 4 years of effort. Still have about 10 square feet of plywood to cover, and then the "superdetailing" can begin.
Cheers.
Perry, you sure have one beautiful model on that layout.
RRC, that is nice work. I am glad you have decided to share. We all are learning here, and all the different ideas and methods are what makes it fun. Also, the true artists are an inspiration.
Thanks
