Posted by derailedtrainofthought on Monday, January 8, 2007 8:43 PM
hey guys Im looking for some route maps and yard maps of the Southern Pacific that are from the mid 80's to the mid 90's era. Any ideas on where some would ber online or where I would be able to get some copies of the actual drawings

A good book for yard maps is "North American Railyards" by Michael Rhodes (St. Paul: MBI Publishing, 2003). It has maps and/or info for the following SP yards (listed in the UP section, though):

Taylor (no map)

West Colton

Eugene (no map)

Roseville (Davis)

Englewood (no map)

Pine Bluff (SSW - no map)

Good luck, espicially with finding anything from SPH&TS dealing with information past the transition era. Sometimes I wonder why I bothered joining. They do have some more recent articles, but they seem to be few and far between.
