Hello everyone.....
Looks like a busy halloween for many of you. Belated happy birthday, Ryan.
Duke, I'm still in Michigan. I may go to the Gratiot Valley Train show when they open Sunday mornng. You said if you went that's when you would go if you do. So I'll be looking out for you. I can't think of a particular place to meet, but I hope to see you if you're there. I'll check the forum again prior to then.
I went to two model train stores already.
Who has the pumkin pie recipe? It's the time of the year for it.

It was a different time indeed!
And as for the good example, I'm just trying to do what I'm supposed to, thats all......thank you for the kind words, but you're far to generous with them.
Hi all.
So far I am enjoying my 4 day weekend due to parent-student-teacher confrences. Mine was at 12:30, the second one. Nothing bad was said at all, mainly becuase I have so many good things.
I am really proud in science where I have gotten 100% on EVERY test, assignment, and paper. Not to mention, my science teacher (she rocks!) is teaching us at a 10th-11th grade level. GO ME!!!
C'yall later!

Must be ideal weather for wasps/hornets as they are "tinging" off my studio window as I type. Hope none of them venture through the attic and find there way in here.

We live in a neighborhood full of homes with young families. Since we'd just moved in last year at this time and we were on the outer fring of the neighborhood, we didn't see too many kids last year. This year we figured we'd be real outgoing and take this opportunity to meet the neighbors that might be more then a few doors away. It's a great way to meet people, ya know? I really feel that God has called me to just love on people. So many people are hurting these days, and they just need someone who won't judge them, but instead, just care about them. I try to do that. I've met my neighbors already, but now I'm meeting the rest of the neighborhood.
TO GO this morning, please & thank you!

Until Barbara's dad had that stroke and her mom went nuts, we would go up to their house to hand out candy for them. I would put up an old dragon head from one of my huge costumes and then Barbara and I would answer the door in Grim Reaper-ish costumes with alien masks on under the hoods to give the kids some extra entertainment. Always enjoyed doing that. Oh well.
Have a good day all. Rob
Coffee, please. I will be in the back booth for a while.
I am not around much on Wednesdays, so, Ryan, I think we will extend your birthday a little longer.
or if you want pie,
Thanks for the list of assorted tools.
I will be mowing the lower pasture this morning, so I will check in at lunch time.

J.R. - Boy did I ever eat too much last night. Monique picked up some Bojangles chicken and biscuits with dirty rice, mashed potatoes and sawmill gravy, some of their awesome sweet tea and some blueberry biscuits with icing for desert. Then ice cream cake from Carvel's too! Took two Zantacs this morning....
Colby - Congrats on your 761 post! Not sure of the 761 milestone significance, but congrats anyway!
Dick - With certainty I can say that I fit at least ½ of the AOF requirements....
Jim - bagels look good, but I'll have to just stick with coffee this morning, stomach is doing the Rumba this morning...
Cheers,

Indiana Phil (philnrunt), good to see you in the Diner again! I'm not at all sure what kind of car you have there, though if you get a pic posted, others might be able to help. Sounds like a productive trip to the show, and that AmyJo's a pretty good show-shopper herself! Stop back in again, but don't wait as long the next time.
Ah Fergie, the joys of home ownership, huh? Speaking of your Christmas preparations, the news here showed a man who had one of those ever-expanding Christmas light displays. They said he had to start in August with putting the lights up, and his electric bill in December was in the four-figure range...
Time for me to get moving. Gonna be nice again today It's 50 F (10 C) currently, and heading for 63 F (17 C) by the afternoon, but supposed to drop to freezing (or almost) tonight.
Blessings and prayers for your day,

Good Morning All,
Lots of upper level wind this morning - the clouds are just whipping by. I'll have a regular and a glazed donut. Off to Copake and Red Hook this morning dropping off and picking up stuff for the shop. Spent some of the evening working on the houses again and a little progress for the effort. I'm using the testors window cement to make the windows as they look better than putting clear sheet in behind. Pics in another day or so.
Speaking of pics, nice job Jerry. I like the authentic look of the wall to the right side of the scene. Just needs some Kilroy graffiti and it's spot on.
Good Morning All
Good God it's Phil from Indy! It has been a while my friend! I trust all is well?
Dick: Got your e-mail... Com'n man did you think that little old TS was going to sneak under Lisa's radar... last night's News stated Noel had killed 60 in Haiti due to flooding. I suspec this will give all theb rain we'll need for the next month or so. Got the Canna lillies out of the ground yesterday so that's one less thing left on the list to do. Still have a multitude of "get the house ready for winter/Christmas" things to do. See it never ends does it?
RYAN! though belated as it may be.
Anyway I must run as I have much to do today.
Later

Sure has been awhile, figured I'd pick some brains on a car I picked up the other day. Went to a swap meet in Ft Wayne, In, and found what I thought was a 54' P&LE open gon in jade green. Amyjo had just picked me up two other P&LE gons in black and yellow at another table, so I thought this would fit in quite well. After I got it home, I checked it out and it is quite a bit narrower than a mill gon, it has some type of cradle molded in the interior, and about 8 scale feet from the ends it has large rounded nubs, they put me in mind of an auto-dump coal hopper. I checked on the bottom to see if there was a name of the manufacturer, but havn't been able to find anything yet. It also looks like it is missing end pieces, as the ends it has are plain plastic (but still painted) with two plastic locator pins through them.
I'm probably not doing a very good job of describing it, I will try to get a picture of it in the next few days and post it. Also, it is quite heavy, and the weight apperas to be a very large piece of square stock that makes up part of the cradle.
As for the show, it was at Colliseum Bingo, on Washington Center Rd, and the people running it were the friendliest folks I've been around in quite some time. The prices were great, I picked up 9 RTR cars with KD's for a total of 45$, and as if that wasn't enough, I won a door prize of a suitable for framing line drawing of the Wabash Depot in Andrews In.! Not bad! I would highly recommend this show to anyone close, and the next one is 2-16-08, if I remember correctly.
We'll see what we can do about getting more info on the car I'm trying to ID, and maybe get some pics posted of it, if it isn't too hard for this old technology challenged boy to figure out!
Good evening everyone, a beautiful Fall day today, hit about 59F under clear skies and low humidity.
Is it my imagination, or does it seem that more and more companies are producing diesels rather than steamers? All the adds that I see lately are 90% diesel...hmmmmmmmmm.
RYAN: Happy birthday young man !!!! One year closer to 50!!! Then you can join the AOF group. lol
COLBY: I love the idea of passenger service extended to Canada. I would hope there would be a connection near Calais, ME that would run through New Brunswick and on to Nova Scotia, that would be a nice ride.
Bon Soir
Cupcakes? I'm in...for 6 of em! And some coffee to chase them down with.
