0 8 0 dcc install
Posted by Rick Bradley on Thursday, December 28, 2006 11:34 PM

i have recently installed a soundtraxx DSD-LC for a 080 lifelike, i have just got it back and cannot get it to do anything other than have the sound of the airpump and the backup light flashes on and off.

It won't let me program the address into it. I have digatraxx super chief. this was an out of town install and i don't want to send it back and wait another 2 months to get it back.

If someone can help me get this thing going that would be great

You must program the sound decoder before it will work.  Try address 3, the factory default, and see what happens.  The installer probably did not change the factory default address.  If you want it to operate on the locomotive's road number, reprogram the address.

You might also want to do a reset -- some decoders are tested at the factory and not reset properly, or the installer may have done the same.

Just set CV 30 to 2 (on the program track).

This will set ALL the CVs to the factory defaults.

Then you should be able to program it normally.
