"The Keystone Modeler", December 2006

The December issue of "The Keystone Modeler" (TKM) is now available. For those not familiar, this is an electronic-only offering from the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society (PRRT&HS). It is published monthly, in PDF form, and runs 35-45 pages each issue. This is the 41st issue, and did I mention that it is FREE? Each issue includes articles about modeling the PRR, with prototype info. Also perfect for those who don't model the PRR but model interchange... ah, so you do model the PRR!!! This eMagazine has been so successful that it led to the B&O society doing the same type of thing. We even helped them set it up. Check it out: http://www.prrths.com/Keystone%20Modeler/Keystone_Modeler.htm

SWEET!  I love that magazine.  If anybody wants to see some of the finest prototype modeling done today (in multiple scales, no less), click on that link!

I would LOVE to see the New York Central System Historical Society (NYCSHS) do something similar, but I won't be holding my breathe. Sigh [sigh]  Thanks for the link.  I'll have to check that out.

It really is great for us "Pennsy Guys". It also offers modeling tips that anyone can use. There are plenty of photos and diagrams in each paper. They put a whole lot of work and experience in each issue, try it you will like it.

I have every copy since #1 and it  is one great magazine. It sure helps someone who is 1/2 a world away to obtain prototypical info for their PRR layout. I've purchased great specialty stuff as a result of articles in the PRRM. I owe a debt of gratitude to the guys who put it together each month. I must send some subs along to the HS to show support.
Geoff I wish I was better trained.

Yes, the B&O Historical Society did, and for the last year and a half or so, we've been publishing the B&O Modeler.  You can find it at http://borhs.org/ModelerMag/index.html.  Like the Keystone Modeler, it is free.

Great Site, I don't model Pensy but the information and tips are great.  Also, love the historical perspective of the projects.  Anyone know of similar sites for other roads?
