RAILFANS CALL IT THE MOST EXCITING TRAIN ACTION MOVIE EVER MADE!
NOW AVAILABLE FROM PENTREX ON DVD!

"EMPEROR OF THE NORTH"

Starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, and Keith Carradine, this epic action film takes place during the Great Depression, when drifters rode the rails and it was the mission of railroad bulldogs to keep them off. EMPEROR OF THE NORTH pits a crafty train-hopping character called A-No.1 (Marvin) against Shack (Borgnine) who is the cruel, intolerant conductor of Engine 19. When pride turns their determination into obsession, the clash escalates into a fight to the finish that only one man can survive!

EMPEROR OF THE NORTH was filmed in 1972 on the Oregon, Pacific and Eastern Railway near Cottage Grove, Oregon. It features the railroad's rolling stock and its two steam engines, particularly 2-8-2 Mikado No. 19. Released originally in 1973, this exciting movie and been in constant demand due to its gripping, action-packed scenes and nonstop suspense. The highlight is one of the most spectacular fight scenes ever filmed on or around a moving train!

EMPEROR OF THE NORTH is rated PG for violence and graphic language. This new DVD is in widescreen format and offers special features including commentary by noted film historian Dana Polan as well as TV spots and theatrical trailer. Color, Close Captioned, Stereo and Mono sound.
