Has anybody purchased and used Micro-marks photoetching kit. The one with which you actually make the pe peices ? What were your results? Degree of difficulty? Degree of satisfaction with product?

In Lewiston Idaho, where they filmed Breakheart pass.

I have purchased the kit and some extra supplies. I have made drawings in TurboCad for stainless steel passenger car diaphragms and the hairpin station fence used in NHRR stations as well as fancy window frames used on the Old Saybrook station and freight house.

I will also be doing baggage carts, waiting room benches and some other items I need in large quantities.

I can easily produce the reverse side (for double sided etching) in Turbocad using the copy/mirror image function and then make the negative in Photoshop using the invert function. This is much easier for me than trying to do everything in negative in the CAD program. I then open the file in Adobe Pagemaker to print it where I want it on the negative film in my ink jet printer.

Keep in mind that this is only capable of making  small parts because the tank size is so small.

Now that the weather is cooling down here in sunny Scottsdale, AZ I can do the etching outside rather than in the house. When I get my first parts I will post them here.
