Well I'm at it again making interior for buildings on my layout. here is Walthers White Tower resturant in the process of getting a make over. The unique thing is I doubt it will be what it was suppose to be when I am done, planning on making a Music store or something other than the resturant.

This time I use my Epson inkjet printer, Corel Draw X3, drew the walls the right size same with flooring. I then printed it on Semi gloss photo paper to give it a shine. If you use Glossy Paper the tiles come out  like it was just cleaned. I drew the windows on the other side of the paper then cut it out using a number 11 X-acto blade. I'm not worrying to much about the grey showing in the 3 window section due to I am installing blinds in that window.  Now all I need to do is find the Roof.

Glass will be thin clear plastic fitted between the paper and the building

Nice project. My favorite lunch is a sack of White Castles, I assume a relative of White Tower. If it stays a resterant, I'll stop by some noon.

I really like  what you are doing and your success with the computer design. Thanks for sharing.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

Art.

thanks for the compliment, if it does stay a Resturant I will make a booth yours.
I just like to show people how the computer really helps and you dont need to by Eveans Designs programs. They are nice but still dont look right to me. Maybe it is white Castle I cant remember I found it in a bag I was just going to throw it out cause of a really bad paint job. Then I washed it with 91% Rubbing Alcohol got it as clean as possible sprayed it primer grey then repainted it white with some grey showing through for a slight weather effect. Still gotta add the color on the tower deco work.

As it turns out, that's a pretty nice building to put interior details into.  It's simple and one-story, and best of all it has big windows.  I've got a number of DPM buildings, but most of the windows are so small that it's probably not worth adding much detail inside.

I like the idea of printing on glossy paper, particularly for the floor.

Please keep those photos coming.  I've got a lot of "foreground" buildings right up in front of my layout, with the trains behind them (and subways below them) so your interiors are very inspirational.  Thanks.

Great idea for making interiors, I like the booth idea too! I have the Walther's Diner model kit and now with your inspiration, some fresh new ideas for detailing that one sooner than later.

Ryan,
glad I could help inspire you with this project. I try my best to show what can be done easily and less expensive then the alternative. Some say Evans is a great program that maybe true but if your going to use it to do false interior which is glues right to the window thats fine bu i prefer my orground buildings have as close to real as possible, and for the few cets it costs to build an interior I will most likely install them in the background ones to, will sae time later on if I rebuild and decided to have these background buildings as foregrounds.
