TV Subjects

Maybe I'm missing something here, people submit messages on this forum such as :" Hey! there's a great show on steam in Peru right now"  well guess what? there are 6 or 7 time zones in North America, A bunch of national news networks, some national TV networks and 45 million different cable stations, they all run independantly of each other, so if you are in Florida watching TV do not assume everyone in North America is watching the same channel with you, it's impossible, so it's sort of a waste of a message to inform the rest of the forum, when in a lot of cases, the show will never be shown.

It sort of reminds me the locals here who wave at everybody in town as they drive by, they do not realize that newer cars and trucks have tinted windows and you cannot see who is driving let alone if they are waving, but they continue to wave anyway, sort of a wasted wave don't you think??

I dont mind it when people say thers a show on. Usually they say its on this channel and its abot this. Most say check your listing or hey this is gonna be on at this time. Usually I look it up on TVGuide.com to see if its the same time and if its on at all. Usually when it comes to cable it is. I learned this because of DIY's working on the railroad its on at 630am tuedays in Wisconsin but is on at 7am in New York. on tuesdays. so maybe people should inform us a day before when it comes to train tv show or atleast list where they are from like exampls

Hey Modern Marvels Freight Trains is on right now at 6pm wednesday I am in Wisconsin on thee History Channel see if its in your neck of the woods. good example.

I'm guilty of this, but at least I give the time, time zone and channel the show is on.

As for the waving thing. I also still do that just to remind the rest of the world that not everyone is an unfriendly, self centered, rude, stuck up jerk or jerkette... Now a days, most people frown on "wavers", and look upon them as being simple minded country bumpkins that aren't hip and in touch with the cold, unfriendly modern world - like my friend Steve who says if he doesn't know them he ignores anyone that waves. Sad.

I guess I'm a simple minded self-centred, rude, stuck-up jerk,  I kinda thought I was anyway,  But again, if you cannot see who is driving OR waving, the vehicle may be a stranger who does not wave, is the proper procedure to honk, roll down your window and wave? Do drivers not know that you can NOT see in cars today? what if I'm busy with a shovel or a tool? stop what I'm doing, drop my tools and wave to a car with blacked out windows that I cannot see if he waved?   what's the procedure? please inform me as I'm new to town. Does the driver who cannot be seen, bother to wave? then this leaves only one person waving, doesn't make much sense to a new country bumpkin like me, please answer so I don't offend anyone. This procedure may have been popular 10 years ago when you could actually see inside cars, but today it's impossible, now you know why the police wanted them banned.

Please don't take what I said personally tatans. I was speaking in general terms. I couldn't resist using what you said to make a point of the fact that people aren't friendly anymore like they use to be - tinted windows or not...
