So how much progress have you made on your layout in that year?

I joined the forum about 4 months before I "broke ground" for my layout.  A year after joining, I had a pretty good start, but I was no where near where I thought I would be. Things really took a lot longer than I thought they would.  The big surprise, though, was how much fun I was having doing scenery.  Over my first year of layout-building, I stopped being in a hurry, and just settled in to enjoy the journey.
