Has anyone been keeping track of the production of the Roco AC4400CWs over the past few months? Know any new news? One question I've got also is will these locos run on track which is controlled by a electric pack? You know, electricity sent from the transformer into the track then picked up through the trucks of the loco. I'm kinda mixed up with what DCC power and DC power is.

I haven't seen or heard anything from Roco since they first published this. Because there hasn't been any news and people are not getting any word from Roco, some suspect this isn't going to happen. I don't know if this is true or not, but Kato is and that's where I'm putting my money. The last Roco product I purchase was that FA1 - probably never purchase anything again from them. Absolutely never purchase pre-release anything from Roco.

The owner of Roco died a few months ago and his wife supposedly was wanting to stop marketing to the U.S. for some reason.

Thanks for the info guys. I just noticed Atlas came out with a dash 8-40C, hopefully they come out with an AC4400CW sometime in the future. I was looking forward to the Roco release. Kato plans on doing a AC4400 but only in a few roads, those models aren't as good as Atlas in my opinion.

After thinking of this topic the other day I decided to e-mail E-R Models (Roco)to see what they had to say. According to them "the project is on hold at the moment due to the decline in the value of the dollar."
