Well, the re-registration process was quick and painless. I havn't had much time to explore yet, but I like the look. Looks like we lost the quick reply box at the bottom of the message lists, which is too bad. I used it all of the time. Also the reply buttons are different. Looks like you will be replying to a specific message rather than to the general topic. Anyway, welcome back all.

Ron

P.S. I like the smiley drop down menu. Nice touch. Great work Bergie and staff.

Yes, the quick reply window is a loss. It forces you to choose someone to reply to.

Where are we .... on Broadway !  Call me a minimalist but alot of hard work has gone into this so I better 'suck it up' and start getting used to it.

Looks nice though Bergie

But it doesn't look like it matters who you reply to.  At least if it does I haven't figured it out yet!

Have you MR subscribers checked out the product reviews yet? You can add comments and rate each product. It's one of my favorite aspects of the redesign. (My favorite being that it's over and I can get some sleep!) Sleepy [|)]

I'm happy to hear that (A) you guys like it and (B) that you made it through the registration and unlocked your old forum screen names with no problems. Makes all those meetings from February seem worth it now.

Ok, here is a stupid question. Thie sweepstakes they are advertising, are you entered automatically for (re-)registering or do you have to fill out another form?. I thought it was automatic, but the rules (yes I read them, don't ask me why) make it sound like there is another form. Anyone know which it is.

Oh, I also like the ability to rate the threads. Should be a cool feature for threads that hand around a while.

One question (for now) What do I need to do to get my picture smaller and have it all show up? I 've noticed I'm not the only one with this problem.

You'll have to Photoshop or Paint Shop it to a smaller size (probably about 300 x 200 pixels at the most). I had to resize the picture of my RSD-5 diesel to a smaller size (250 x 188?) and upload it to my Photobucket account. The smaller signature feature is nice for people like me who have slow computers, and a slow internet service, like Verizon's DSL.

Ok, I have my first real complaint. When you use the "Active Topic" feature--with I almost always use--it doesn't divide massages by forum but throws them all into one big list by time posted. I don't care for that. still overall a thumbs up, however.

I like it too. I do miss the quick reply box at the bottom though. I also like the display pic option on the side!

Ok, so I guess the maximum signature picture height is 150 pixels. I noticed that when the text under my picture wasn't showing up, so you'll have to make sure your signature picture is 150 pixels or less high.

Anybody try the "pm" feature yet? Just curious how it works?

I sure do miss the quick type box at the bottom, and I've lost what I worked ever so hard for, my lovable, cherished stars. Other that this, it seems ok.

I like what I see so far.  It will take some getting used to.  The one thing I do miss seeing is who is on the specific forums at the bottom of the page.

Joe, I clicked on the menu, but it doesn't go any further than that.  No info on videos coming up.  Maybe the kinks will  work out in the days ahead.

I noticed that too.  There is a drop down box which seems to allow limiting your view to a selected area, but when I chose Model Railroader forums it responded "There are no active posts."  Maybe not working yet.

Well, It's different.

If they've killed the stars and polls, great.

I would have like a "go to first unread post" feature.

Exellent redesign of forum! Thanks to all involved for the hard work it took to design and move all of the imformation. I didn't realize how much I enjoy this forum until I had to do without it! Thanks again! Jim
