I don't think he was offended, Elonna. I spend quite a bit of time on ebay and when you see some one with no feedback, and a price like that you have to wonder about the legitimacy (especially from overseas). Seems to have garnered quite a bit of interest, judging from the counter. I thought it was neat as well, wish I had the money and the space. lol My driveway is too small.

Maybe they have decided to start modeling in a new scale and are selling off all their old stuff. It looked to me like the grab irons on the tender were a bit oversize and the weathering is a bit overdone (IMHO) but overall it's not a bad model.

Are you sure it's fake? EBay charges an insertion fee at a % of starting price. So if it's fake it's costing someone some bucks.

Maybe if someone has a large ranch in Texas and some oil wells, they could do a 1:1 scale.....maybe that ranch in Crawford, TX?????[:D]

Actually, terms of sale include shipping to a major port anywhere worldwide. Unfortunately, my garden's not THAT big.

Actually, they are probably hoping that a Rail Road museum some where in the world might be interested in adding it to their collection, or a third world nation who can't afford the cost of a new engine may purchase it. When diesel fuel is not available that engine will still run on wood or coal, so it's not really that far fetched. And the post has to do with Trains and that's what this forumn is about isn't it ?.

This could be something for a tourist line that wants a steam loco but sheeesh I'd hate to try to figure out how to get it there, especially if it needs to go to Nebraska or somewhere. You'de better buy two since you cant get spare parts at your local Locos-R-Us.
