Rivarossi is currently not producing anything, as they have been bought by Hornby. I'm sure you could still find a Hiawatha 4-6-4, though.

i know there was a list at the london model fail with about 90 items on it that are going to be re-released this year. i think some of them were rivarossi but i never actually saw the list. i know several people sho know the list exists-they just dont know what was on it. with the big boy being one of the best selling loco's in history i am pretty sure that it was on the list with i suspect some TGV's. but that is pure speculation.

it was a trade fair so i couldnt go. i suspect that some of your "limited editions" will not be so "limited" when this all irons out!!!!

Peter, is there any speculation going forward how Hornby-Riv will simplify & service their Riv warranty?
Walthers will exchange within the first 12 months if a replacement is in stock but the FEF-3
carries a 24 month service warranty .
On month 13 or after the unit has to be returned to Italy for subsequent free repairs.
Your thoughts please.

i dont know. but i would speculate that hornby will be trying very hard to keep the origional distributors so i suspect they will be renotiating the walthers distribution rights. I suspect they will continue to be the main US distribution centre but will loose the "exclusive" bit of the deal.
you will have to remember that it will be a whole lot more costly to ship returns all the way back to china so that is a no-go.

i know here in england you usually return the model either back to the LHS and they usually usualloy return it to hornby. there are Authorised hornby service centres that service hornby stuff withought voiding the warrenty.

i suspect the warrenty you are refering to will not be honoured.

hornby stuff normally comes with just a 12 month warrenty.
i have only ever had one loco fail and that was because the moror had burnt out. it was only about 6 days old and so there was not a problem with swapping it.

i am still trying to find out what was on the list last week.

Peter, thanks for your response.

I'm a little premature since I don't have any FEF-3 problems but I don't operate them every week.

First modelers don'tknow the warranty terms until they open up the box.
Two years but it has to be returned to Italy.

Then Walthers realized that this is a major inconvenience and only then
did Walhers step up to the plate and verbily amend the policy under certain
terms and only for 12 months.
