I enjoy too many performers and musicians to list here, but some favorites are Moody Blues, Yes, ELP, Genesis, Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays, Michael W. Smith & Aaron Copeland. I play keyboards in a worship band at church, and among the pile of synthesizers in my keyboard rig is the synthesizer for railfans....the Ensoniq SD-1!

Cool!

Throw in some Bagpipes and highland drums also { really ticks off the people next door }. Godsmack Ect, and anything loud, thrash music like "six feet under". Can't stand country or rap for that matter.

Also can't stand these new whinnie bands that think their punk bands. Bands like....you know the whinner bands.

Heavy metal? Rap music (an oxymoron, by the way)? How about some real music - ever hear of Count Basie? Hands down the best big band ever assembled. It's simply impossible to listen to that driving swing and not smile.

My musical talents being a bit more, um, limited than Mr. Basie's. Here's my band: www.clownband.com

Hehehe you'd like a punk band called the "Dickies" they did punk covers of 'Silent Night', 'Nights in White Satin', Sabbaths "Paranoid' and the even the TV themes from 'Gigantor' and 'The Banana Splits'. fun stuff!

Personally everything from Beethoven to Black Flag

...exceptions being anything Disco, Yanni, and Micheal Boulton which are treated like Bird Flu[xx(]

The Dickies were great. "Stukas Over Disneyland" and "We Aren't The World" are faves.

My tastes are fairly broad and not too conventional.

Sixties: The Mothers, Velvet Underground, Stooges, Black Sabbath.

Seventies: Hawkwind, Dead Boys, Sex Pistols, Carpenters.

Eighties: Iron Maiden, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bauhaus, NWA, Death in June.

Nineties: Ministry, Babyland, Coil, Skinny Puppy, Chemlab, Public Enemy.

Oughts: Stromkern, Metallux, Combichrist, Turbonegro, Funker Vogt, Project Pitchfork

I am also heavily involved in the noise/experimental music community: a few months ago I did a live performance based on modifying and oscillating the sounds from a record of steam locomotives and thunderstorms--using a subwoofer, I was able to simulate, to some extent, the kind of guttural thrumming sound you get from standing near the tracks. Any railfan who likes to stand close enough to feel the train going past (but far enough away to not be in danger) knows that feeling...tough to simulate!

I like almost every genre of music, except for emo, most 70's music, pop, and every America idol (but they count as pop, right?)

My favorites are
Hip hop- NWA, Eminem, The Notorious B.I.G., 2pac, DMX, Puff Daddy/P Diddy/ Diddy, The Game, The Beastie boys, Chamillionare.
Rock/alternative rock- The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl jam, Rammstein(a German metal/techno band).
Other- Depeche Mode, Weird Al, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash.

I listen to pretty much anything and everything. I try not to discriminate when it comes to musical tastes.

However, I listen to very little rap, hip-hop, punk, and very heavy hardcore metal.

My main music of choice is Country, followed by Classic Rock and Oldies. However, I do listen to classical quite a bit...It's great to work to.

And since we use Easy Listening pieces, like Michael Bublè and Frank Sinatra, at Bose...I've been kind of hooked on Bublè recently. Great older music. [tup][tup]

Aye, me too, and as a matter of fact, the only reason I have it is GN-Rick there! Our musical tastes run quite close together. Akin to him, I like classical, prog rock, classic rock, and the Buena Vista Social Club. Dunno what genre they'd be...

For me, it's Johann Sebastian Bach.
I listen to and play lots of other music but Bach is the best.
It's full of joy and constant energy.

Rock, country & western, blues, just about everything except top 40 pop junk. I especially like Celtic music. I'm a big fan of Afro-Celt Sound System, blending Celtic, real African, electronica, and whatever else strikes their fancy.

My musical taste is VERY broad. I grew up in the 60's 70's. The first music I remember listening to was the Beatles, to this day they are still a fave of mine. In my teens I was turned on to Led Zeppelin ( without a doubt, hands down my Favorite) Pink Floyd is also a fave. That being said I like rock from Aerosmith to ZZ top.
However, I also grew up Italian so if it's Frank's Thanks ( a Philly thing) I can listen to any Frank Sinatra my wife loves to hear me sing Frank tunes.
There are a few country artists I like. I can also get lost in a good Beethoven or Tchaikovsky symphony. Bagpipes and drums have a unique sound that get the juices flowing also.
To sum up this response anything but RAP !! BLECH!

Any type of rock (and a little country)

The Classic and/or metal:
Metallica, Pantera, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Kiss, Skid Row, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Megadeath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Rob Zombie, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, CCR, Led Zeppelin, and Slayer to name a few.

The newer stuff:
System of a Down, Disturbed, Godsmack, Green Day, Korn, Papa Roach, Mudvayne, Static-X, Staind, Linkin Park, Shinedown, Nine Inch Nails, Chevelle, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, and Saliva.

Country (just a few):
Waylon Jennings (Dukes of Hazzard Theme), Montgomery Gentry, Kenny Chesney, Willy Nelson, and Johnny Cash.

Rap:
JUST KIDDING!!!

In my opinion, there's no feeling like crusing down the interstate at a leisurly 120 mph in a modded '02 Chevy Camaro Z28 listening to "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack!
