Had to clean my computer mouse ball --- you take it out, being carefull not to create a discharge. You've probably seen the hilarious piece on how to clean a mouse --- Back when I was an IBM Service Rep the memo actually came out of plant engineering and was for REAL.
Anyway, while cleaning my mouse ball, it dawned on me ---- THAT gunk that gets on plastic MRR wheels is the same stuff that gets on the rollers in my mouse. It is NOT anything but dirt attracted by static electricity. Just like the dirt that gets on your computer screen or TV screen. The diference is that in a mouse or railroad car you are rollong something aganist the dirt and packing it in tight.
If we can figure a way to remove the static from plastic wheels, we will remove the dirty wheel problem.
Think about it!
