Problem Solved With Mirrors
Posted by jon grant on Friday, April 14, 2006 1:43 PM
When Sweethome Chicago is being operated, the 'West-side operator is responsible for driving trains on and off the layout, into the cassette storage yard.

The problem is that the operator is at the front of the layout, and the storage yard is behind the high backscene, so he can't see when the train is about to hit the buffers.

My pal NH Neil helped me operate Sweethome at our show last year, and he suggested a solution to the problem.

Neil's solution, cost £1.00 ($1.80)from Pound Shop (Dollar Store) - a bicycle mirror. Simple but effective, and a lot cheaper than CCTV
