? for Amtrak riders

This August, I plan to take my first long distance train trip in about 30 years. I'll be traveling from northern Ohio to Oakland, Ca. The stations in Elyria and Sandusky are both about equidistant from where I live. Does anyone have opinions about which is the better place to board in terms of safe and convenient long term parking.

You might try asking that on the Ohio forum at railroad .net.Its at www.railroad.net/forums/index.php

Sandusky would have my vote. They recently renovated much of the station area.
Are you planning to park your vehicle at the station while you're away? Might be wise to ask the police to check on it occasionally.
