XtrkCAD not available?
Posted by prompter on Thursday, March 16, 2006 12:51 PM
I just tried to download XtrkCAD and the download on the website (sillub.com) no longer works. Anyone know what is going on?

Thanks,
Chuck

I have the program and the registration key. If you like, I can e-mail them to you or put them on my website for you to download, Total size is less than 1.5MB.

Rather than that, you might try e-mailing the owner of the website sillub.com There is a link on the page for that. If you inform them that you tried to load the file and weren't able to, you might get a message back from the person most likely to know what's going on, and secondly, he or she might fix the link so that it works.

That's much more likely to be successful than relying on the speculations of the rest of us, who probably don't know much more than you do.

There is a message on the sillub site that they are having server problems and are working to resolve.

apparently they're also based out of Yahoo (renting serverspace) - i watched the progress of things to see where it was getting stuck, and every once in a while there'd be a "transferring data from www.yahoo..." message. If that's the case, i wonder if Yahoo didnt mess something up on their side.

You would think they could store the file on another freesite, and use the yahoo site as a click to download the file. Such as Click here have a hyperlink to the file and then it would start downloading from the other free server. I use to do this with pictures when I use to run out of room for my decal business. But because Yahoo has 2gigs for 12.00 I dont run out of room anymore. I hope they figure out hoe to do this cause I think I understand the program better than the free softare from Atlas. Maybe they can email us the file lol.

I emailed sillub the other day and he got back to me:

"You have recently indicated problems accessing the XTrkCad download file.I'm currently looking for a cheap file hosting site as my regular www account will not support the download traffic. In the meantime, I can E-mail you the file if you are interested. If so, please respond to this message
Thanks
Dave "
You can email him at dave@sillub.com
