Didn't Walters make one for a while years back?

Also, RMC had an article on building one decades ago.

Have fun

Walthers did make one, though it's probably been out of production for sometime. I bought mine back in 95 or so.

I too have one of the Walthers transfer tables, I worked on it quite a bit to make it reliable, but now its great, you can see it in my layout and photobucket, I hooked the motor to a variable supply and can run it at slow speeds, Someone somewhere must have one. I found it helped to stiffen the base to prevent the middle from sagging.

I wish you would have spoken a couple weeks sooner, I just sold my Walthers transfer table on ebay. Take a look on ebay occasionaly they will show up. Know that you will need to do some tinkering with it to make it a reliable operator, probably why Walthers discontinued it. Adding a little weight to the bridge, placing a little solder on the pickups and stiffening the table are some of the things that you may have to do to have the performance that you desire.

Yes it was offered by walthers but is no longer available. Try e-bay or a train show. Mine did not work well until I worked on it. I had to stiffen the bottom and installed small springs between the pick-ups and the bridge. Then weighted the table to keep the contacts on the rails. A variable speed controller makes it easier to line up the tracks.

Rich, I am 100% sure there is one at the Acton Model Railroad Center. (Unless it sold last night). Their number is 978-264-4020. However, i've never seen them sell by phone. It would be good to try just in case they are willing to.

To bad you got rid of it, it can be made reliable, mine operates great now, Like some of the guys have said, stiffen, weight, and a little fooling with the contacts and it will operate well. Find one, it can be done.
