Sawmill Equipment Question
Posted by whitman500 on Thursday, March 9, 2006 3:09 PM
I was looking at buying some of the Walthers sawmill kits for my layout and had a question about the appropriateness of the sawmill outbuildings. When did sawmills start using debarkers? Would something like this been in use during the 1950s? Would debarkers have been used at a pulpwood sawmill? I've searched around on the web and haven't been able to get a very good answer.

whitman if you are able to find it, get a book titled trains, trees and tall timber. it was put out several years ago by kalmbach/walthers for their sawmill series.

hope this helps
