GOOD: Your imagination/creativity is the limit
BAD: Your actual limits are your budget ($$$) and SPACE!
All in all I still have hours of fun in an apartment with my 4x8 layout!!

I think it's preaty great. Beacause you get to choose where your trains go. I know this because I have a model railroad that I run at home and I just hope that the maufactures are going to make a Los Angles subway car. Ok. bye!bgal

I have been active in Model railroading, off and on for nearly 54 years. like most, I started with a Lionel o-27 in 1950. Its a great way to escape the pressures of the world. The main downside is that the prices keep going up, but if your on a fixed income, {like I am}, the ability to purchace a nice steam locomotive is beyound our reach. I can only hope that the manufactures won't forget about the "little guy". Thank you very much. MustangManGZ

Over 49 years in HO and Lionel before that. Been reading MR since early '54 and have issues since '47. I think that model railroading is the best of all hobbies. I like building and kitbashing. This means research, mechanical and electrical skills, artistic abilities, and meeting people. It's a great hobby. I have never had a home layout. I have either been in a club or armchair. I don't purchase much anymore as I don't get much satisfaction just owning something, the pleasure for me is in the building. I would rather build an Athearn blue box or Accurail kit than buy one of the new $30 rtr cars. I only buy if something is unusual, fits my era (early '50s), and is not apt to be available as a kit.

After 52 years in the hobby all I can say is a hobby? Nope! A way of life for me..As General George Patton loved war I love the hobby and could not comprehend a life without model railroading...How boring that would be for me!

Over the years, I've built model ships, planes, etc and I've raced electric cars but by far Modelrailroading has always been my first choice in hobbies. Having been involved with Modelrailroading since 1953, I've always felt that it was the most dynamic and satisfying hobby that one could be involved in. Long live the GREATEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD......YA.[:D][:D][:D][:D]
