Atlas in N scale! They always seem to have new items that I must have.

I have more Proto 1000/2000 locos than anything else. Good running, reasonably well detailed, within my budget.

My rolling stock is mixture of just about everything but in numbers Athearn tops it off. Inexpensive which allows me to build up a fleet more quickly, reliable, rugged. I'm willing to forgive the molded grab-irons and monster door claws. The claws can be trimmed off, but I like being able to open doors on boxcars if I want to.

In N scale Kato and Atlas are by far the kings of the Road but I'll have to confer with 3rd rail as to the MDC Connie.I dont own one,I do however have a Bachmann Connie that runs better than any Locomotive i have Bar None,(yes, even my Kato's)Bachmann is going places and with this type product they will get there in a hurry.I heard some people had some trouble with thier connies wobbling. That was not the case with mine. Its a Jewel and a Joy to operate.Thank You Bachmann. Now make me a Big 0-10-0 switcher for Ore duty will ya :)

Since I model in Z, my choices for American equipment are Micro-Trains and American Z Lines (for modern locomotives). The detail is amazing. There are brass kits available from Freudenreich in Germany. Malcolm Cleaveland

Proto, because they have actually come out with Canadian equipment, by that I mean the RS-10's and -18's.

I voted P2K but I must say that, Athearn Genesis and Kato give Proto a good run for the money, all 3 are close in detail. I think Genesis runs the most quiet. All 3 cost a decent amount of money for one loco, but if you want quality and super detail you gotta pay for it. Broadway is taking the lead with adding sound (hence the price tag) Genesis is gonna do the same I heard, so I'm wondering? How much will that be??

I've never had a problem with an Atlas unit yet
so they get my vote.
