I'm guessing the geniuses that planned that are the same ones who "planned" development in Castleton and along north Meridian.

I remember when there was an Esso station on the NW corner of Allisonville and 82nd street, and farms on the other three corners. No mall, no 465, just a quiet country road heading out of town into the really quiet areas.

Well obviously you're a local. Where are you at? I'm in Fishers.

And yes, Castleton was planned FOR gridlock, same as I69 was planned to be a parking lot at rush hour all the way up to 116th street.

I grew up in Castleton. Back then Fishers was just the old buildings, one of which wasn't too particular about out of state driver's licences purchasing ale. Geist was a wilderness except for people fishing.

A lady who sends you to a show with a pocketful of cash is a lady that probably ought not to be forgotten come February 14th. Otherwise it might be "model meets rolling pin".

February 4th (and maybe 5th if I have time) I'm going to a show in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the Mid-America Center.

Gosh Loather, go and ruin all our fun [;)].

There is (was maybe) one in Raleigh. I used to go there when I live in Charlotte.

Feb 18 has a renamed GATS show coming to Concord, NC just outside Charlotte. A little closer to Asheville than Raleigh. But a better choice would be Knoxville or Atlanta shows. Still, you have to drive at least 2 hours from Asheville to get to ANY of them. Not exactly what I would call "where I live".

nharrison, I feel for ya! I used to live in Franklin and used to ask the same question!

The map they give shows it a couple hundred feet west of the intersection of 37 and Pleasant Street, south side of Pleasant Street, between a quarter and half a mile south oif where 32 crosses 37. I'm assuming they mean old 37, not 37A (Allisonville) or I-69/ new37.

No, not Allisonville. It's the 37 that breaks off of I69 a few miles south of there in Fishers.

Do you have any other details on the Noblesville show you're going to? I might be interested in attending. I went to the show at the fair grounds a couple of weeks ago, but I'm always up for another.

I was at that show too. It was pretty good. I got an N scale Kato Mikado new for $80.00. i thought that was worth the price of admission alone.

The show in Noblesville is at the 4H fairgrounds that are right next to the WalMart on SR 37 (Hamilton County 4H Expo Center, 2003 Pleasent Street, Noblesville, IN). It's Sunday 1/29 only, from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $5.00 and 12 and under is free w/paid adult. There will be a train show and meet with clinics, contests, layouts, and auction. There will also be a KITs program for the kids (they build a free kit and take it home). If you need more info, the flyer I have says to call Tom Cain at 317-475-7834.

No, I don't have any affiliations with this group, I just have their flyer.

EDIT: you all beat me to it! I was typing it and got sidetracked. I came back and finished typing, posted, and saw that the question had already been answered. You guy's are on it![8D]

Anybody else going to a show this weekend? If so, where?

Well,,, I would say that you wouldn't be loving her if you ignored this request.

You may want to stop and bring some flowers home to her on your way back.

flowers?...I thought she wanted a new HO gauge Atlas MAC 90.....

Nawww, she doesn't care for trains, just me.

MisterBeasley

I don't think she's redecorating. We're moving soon and I've been dismantleing the layout for a couple of months now. You can't even see carpet in there!

All,

I forgot about the Timonium thing. That has it's own thread, so how about this one is for anyone going to a different show.

I can hear it...."Get your lazy butt off that couch, get down to the train show and GET US SOME TRAINS."

See you there, I'll be wearing a blue backpack.

I'm going to Springfield. Homer, Chief Wiggum, Marge, Waylon Smithers...no, maybe it's the Springfield in Massachusetts.

So, why does she want you out of the house all day? Hopefully, she hasn't invited Martha Stuart over to redecorate your train room.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

A truly wise lady, your wife - like mine, she knows there could be many worse places for you to be without this "distraction".

Next weekend (Feb 4) I'll be going to the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium, MD - practically in my backyard!
