Lionel Railsounds

I have a question that I cant seem to get answered even from Lionel. I have a new loco with lionel railsounds. The problem is that upon throttle down and direction change the sound cuts out I put new batteries in on several different occasions and after about twenty minutes of use the battery seems to become slightly discharged and the sound starts cutting out upon throttle down and direction changes. Lionel sent a new engine that was even worse, and a third that is ok but still drops its sounds. Does anyone else have this problem and is there any cure. Thanks Michael of Ct.

Hi Michael,

I have many Railsounds engines. I have not heard of this problem before. If Lionel has replaced the engine twice and the problem still exists, the problem most probably is not with the engines.

I would be intereste to know if you have other Railsouds engines and if they have problems. Also what type of transformer do you use and what type of track configuration do you have. Their may be a problem in one of these other components causing the problem.

Have you tried the locomotive on other layouts?
