I've heard that Super glue works better than Duct tape for some cuts.

I was taking the clock apart to salvage the gears for model railroading purposes, the spring exploded (should have know better) and sliced into my hand.

I've split my thumb open with a razor saw. But I didn't go to the hospital for it, because I don't like hospitals, especially when it concerns the emergency room. Some ointment, iodine, and lots of bandages later, I was fine. Now, it wasn't as severe as your cut though...But it was pretty deep.[B)]

Lucky you didn't do any permanent damage. I had an old alarm clock explode in my hand (spring was wound up tight and I took the thing apart) I too had stitches and a nice long wait in the clinic.
