Is it me, or is there an extraordinate amount of poles...er, polls on the forum at this time?...

[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

I knew something good was coming when I opened this, Tom.

As far as the polls, I take pride in the fact that I have avoided all of them thus far. My goal for next week is to open just as many as I did this week.

send all inquiries to: warsaw, polland c/o model railroader magazine forum...ha ha ha...i just could'nt resist that!.....[:D]..i really don't mind the polls until they ask questions like: what's your favorite railroad and they don't have my favorite listed....what's up with that?...does it mean that since my favorite isn't listed then I can't play in anybodies reindeer games?...am i an outcast and shunned and hated by all model railroaders that don't adhere to my brand of roadname?...am i a real geek 'cause it wasn't listed and wasn't a popular railroad with the moral majority?...should i break out into a phycotic fit of rage because mine wasn't there in the choices? .... aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!... whew!...glad i got that off my chest....yeah...most polls on the forum are pretty dumb...chuck

Will,

Clarification: It was a play on words; NOT on the Poles as a people. The subject of the post was a take off of the Christmas song by a similar title

Mark & Chuck,

A few of the polls I don't mind answering. The majority I steer clear of. I have yet ot post one....

Maybe we should have a separate forum for polls. Sort of a, well, uh, poll vault.

Sorry about that.

Simple solution that I use is, if it is a poll I just skip over it and go to the next item. If a topic line doesn't interest me, I don't even read it. Overall, I probably only read one or two items per page.

Hey! I'm actually a Pollack! (I don't care, I've heard them all) I've only seen about 3 or 4 that got my attension. I've never posted one myself. I was over checking out Kalbachs Scale Auto forum.WOW! That forum is organized a lot better than this one is. You can go right to a certain section and get a quick answere.

No apology needed. I liked it...[(-D] Bruce, how 'bout we leave you in charge of it? You can be the "poll cat".

To paraphrase a line from the song "Mr. Grinch": I wouldn"t touch this question with a 39-1/2 foot pole.

Back in the balloon-stack locomotive days, when the didn't have telephones or the Internet, guys would ride around on horseback asking these kind of questions. That's how the "gallop polls" got started.

What's the matter with polls?

I just can't see the big deal. Some of them are obvious conversation starters, while others seem to have a value as obtaining info from a cross-section of modelers.

In any case, I take a few seconds to glimpse at a poll. If it's something I can answer, I'll go ahead and cast a vote and move on in most cases.

If you have a problem with Poles, go to Chicago--second largest Polish city in the world.

If you have a problem with polls, well, you have no recourse.[:D]
