On Page 74 of Diesel Victory, it shows a picture of what appears to be a Rio Grande Baldwin Switcher Hostling a Western Pacific 4-8-4. However it is plainly clear that this particular 4-8-4 shows the same streamlined styling, albeit a much drabber paint scheme as Southern Pacific's GS-4 Class. I have seen Bachmann offer their GS 4 in Western Pacific and always thought it was another one of those "Great Botchmann Classics" But this picture seems to show otherwise. Could I get more info this class of engines.

They are duplicates of SP GS6 4-8-4. There is a WP version at the National Museum of Transportation just west of St Louis. They were built during WWII, when there were many limitations, as a part of an order for the SP.
Nigel N&W in HO scale, 1950 - 1955 (..and some a bit newer too) Now in San Jose, California
