Can somebody tell me if there is a central sorce one can go to find what the initalis on rolling stock stands for???? I understand the obvious "ie" GN- Greatnorthern, NYC-New York Central, but what about MPCX, EORX, GATX,
SDRX etc.,etc.?????? Thanks to all that answer!!!!!!

There are bunches of them. Just go to an internet seach engine and search for "railroad reporting marks", or even just list a few railroad abbeviations. Seems like there are so many of them they get in the way when trying to hunt up other information about the railroads.
