Emeraldisle - great to get your greetings... wishing you a very Merry Christmas, and a Blessed New Year- perhaps a train around the tree will get you checking in to the forum again in 2006. missing your amusing "perspective" on this hobby.
have a great season, and thanks for checking in

cheers, krump

Just like it was when you were a kid and before all this crazy "politically correct" business.

(Not meant as a personal attack on you Big Boy. Just a generalized blanket statement. I realize you were being funny, and it was.[;)])

Tree is erect, lit, and just needs adornments. Wife is in full power mode, on hands and knees cleaning floors, I have washed windows, got a good wood fire going, and life is good. Oh, and there's a little something, hidden, that will be waiting from me under the tree come the happy-celebratory-seasonal-conglomeration-of-days-off morning in the shape remarkably remeniscent of a PRR K4. No problem, my 13 year old son gave me a card with that on it last year.[swg]

Y'know, in many ways, this our holiday. Saint Nicholas is the Patron Saint of model railroaders. More than any other day, we owe our allegiance to this hobby to that happy memory of a train running around the Christmas tree (Chanukah Bush, Kwanza Shrubbery, whatever.) How many of us got our start by waking up on the morning of December 25th (solstice, whatever) and stumbling downstairs to find a Lionel running on 3-rail-O, round and round a 3-foot circle? Pure magic. We were hooked for a lifetime.

Thanks, Santa. The trains made at the North Pole have always been the best.
