I like the UP's DD40's, and their turbines.

GREAT THREAD![:D] i am a huge UP fan.[;)] i collect & model UP in HO and N. have lots of UP in models, and tons(and i mean TONS) of UP pics, new and vintage. i like all the newer stuff UP has, but its the vintage diesels & gas turbines i like the best. though i do have a soft spot for the big boy.[:p] if any of you follow the photo fun threads, you have seen some of my stuff. heres a couple pics i havent posted yet. the first two are HO, the last one is in N.

I only model the UP in Nscale and G scale completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

WOW!, you model UP in G scale, what did you do, win the lottery? i think it would cost a fortune, and you would have to have alot of room to do that. i would love to model UP in G scale, but being a single parent kinda makes it hard to find the money to do it, and renting doesnt help either. have any pics of your layouts? Marty Cozad has some REAL NICE stuff.[:p][:D]

First of all I'm technologically impaired, so any pics I take won't make it to my computer. I own the February 2003 Garden Railways so I'm well aware of Marty's work. I also have a family that owns 122 acres of land near Yoakum, Tx.
So I have plenty room for n outdoor G scale layout, and my jobs earn me plenty money.

122 acres, and good paying jobs, thats GREAT![:D] you are one lucky guy. dont get me wrong, i have N & HO, they are both great scales, just that like most of us, i think it would be awsome to do what we wanted in G.[:p] its ashame your technologically impaired, i would have loved to see some more UP in G scale. glad to know of two G scale UP modelers now.

I didn't like UP's paint scheme on their first SD40-2's. I like the "plain" Union Pacific lettering, numbers, and red stripe.

The UP's older scheme is alright, but I LOVE the UP's flag units. They are with out a doubt my all time favorite.

Yes, the flag units are great. I also like the "Baby Wings" they put on smaller locomotives.

Yeah those are pretty good to. I can't tell you how many I've seen down here in Cuero, but I can honestly say that if I had a dollar for every one I've seen, I wouldn't be playing with G scale models, maybe still post war, but thats it.

May I ask, what prevents you from posting pictures? No digital camera?

Can't you take pictures of them, and use Photobucket? It sounds like you have some nice models.

Since we're on the subject of UP, one of my favorite UP locomotives is the Snoot-nose SD40-2.

You are talking to a guy that is currently making $91,250.00 a year. That is just off tha smaller projects that I do as part of my business. And another brass bigboy is on the way for me, this time Gscale livesteam. I'm building it myself, with the help of my grandfather.
That estimate is my annual salary.

Probably my Athearn SE set that John Bezuyen(Spelling)did. I got it off eBay for I think $51.

Well, my Hunnie-Doo list is overflowing, I must be off.

Long live UP and CSX.

The first two models are my UP E/F units.

My more classy Athearn Genesis Flag Unit UP SD70M:

The middle unit on this consist is ex- UP (now WE) 300 GP40, taken at Medina, OH on 7/31/2005. Note, WE's red patch job on the UP.

-----Enjoy!!!
