I don't really care about him, I don't mourn dead drunks and junkies but he died, November 13, 2005, not October. His wife and children have my sympathies though..

Didn't Shakespeare have a play called...let me see if I have this right,...ah yes,... "Much Ado About Nothing." Lighten up, folks! There is room for everyone here.

Off the web (but who believes that):

Eddie Guerrero passes away
Oct. 13, 2005

Fans are saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and his two daughters.

The death of Eddie Guerrero is quite tragic, but I don't think that it is quite appropriate for the Model Railroader thread. Although, it is sad to see him pass away, and even worse for his family...

Curmudgeon: He died this Sunday, November 13, 2005. Google it, and read the on-line articles for the New York Times and all. And there isn't really any reason for you to call someone a troll for posting an off-topic thread.

Dude...there is no reason to ba***he Coffee Shop with the infamous jargon. The Coffee Shop is the place on the forum that is meant for posts about everyday life, family, friends, funny stuff, and just basic talk. Yes, it is off-topic, but it is there to be off topic, and to sort all the off-topic material into one thread as an on going conversation.

Actually the last post I had made on this forum was gonna be my last one here. But I got bored at work and decided to see what was happening here. Holy smokes, does this forum really hit low points sometimes, hence my previous decision. I go to modell rr forums to gain knowledge about model trains and share my moels not about a wrestler (of whom I know of) or any other topic that can be read else where. I do many other things like fish, play video games, play with my children, I also have a 2ft X 4ft civil war diorama. If I needed scenery advice for my diorama I might ask here as this would be a possible source of info on scenery. If I was wondering about what color of jig to use in murky water on a sunny day, I would not ask here. I would go to a fishing forum.

I'm sorry this man died so young but so has many thousands more that day and I do understand he was/is famous. I feel bad for his family. My worst fear is what my family would go through if something ever happend to me. BUT, this is a forum for model railroading (it says so "General Discussion (Model Railroading)" and swimming through posts like these trying to find something of value is frustrating. If it is due to a need to vent then I would suggest looking to see if Dr. Phil has a forum. I'm not being sarcastic either.

No offense to anyone. This is not directed to anyone in peticular and I do not mean this as an attack. I will leave this to die a natural death. See you somewhere else in cyber space.

I'm not a wrestling fan, but geez, even I've heard of Eddie Guerrero. If the guy leaves behind a wife and children this close to Christmas, they have my thoughts and prayers. There is no place to put off topic posts here. Where are they supposed to go? Nowhere? Yeah, right! I think everyone needs to lighten up on pavariangoo. He didn't do anything except ask for our support. Look at what he got. No. Go back and read over it. Sounds pretty hateful, to me.

Hateful ??? [%-)]

All I did (in my original reply) was point out that Pavariangoo's post was in no way related to trains or model railroading, and asked him what Mr Guerrero's death had to do with trains and model railroading.

Subsequently, he has reacted in an apparently aggressive and defensive way, enflaming this discussion (as evidenced by his 28,000-word post).

As someone pointed out, the Coffee Shop would have been a far more appropriate venue in which to make such an announcement since that thread is reserved for off-topic discussions.

Once again, I state that my deepest sympathies lie with Mr Guerrero's family and fans. But I still do not see how this has anything to do with the topic of this forum.

Curmudgeon

Get your facts right and dont call me a troll.

If i have offended by posting that 28000 word reply i will replace it simply with the link. It was only there to show that he was not unknown. To show there are no hard feelings i shall replace it with a link BUT I AM NOT A TROLL!

As i dont come on here much (i know i have been a member for a while) i dont read the coffee shop so i didnt know i should have posted there

why is this a riot?

What's Next? A copying of all the obituaries (or birth's) in the Sunday newspaper?.

I'm sorry for your personal loss - and even moreso the extensive elogy - but try to remember - it's probably more newsworthy elsewhere.

To wit: OFF TOPIC.

hey i have a thought

If you were to go to a railway club would you only talk about railroads with your mates? I doubt that the conversation would never stray.

I have replaced the 28k word post with the link to be friendly, i hope that shows im not out to start an arguement. in future ill post in the coffee shop. thanks for advising me about that topic.

ok um im really confused but lets let this go. i just watched a program about him and he would not have wanted this.

lets have no more harsh words about this, people can have their opinions but lets not argue. Its not worth breaking up this group. I mourn his death but we should be at peace. I really didnt realise listing this here would cause such an uproar.

i am not a trol though

I am saddened by this post for two reasons. Firstly ,someone who pavariangoo holds in some esteem has died, and I'm sure we all understand that, but the second reason is that this very friendly forum has been stirred up, and I am going to be so bold as to say deliberetly, by pavariangoo, just to create a bit of dust and kicking. I am sorry the Moderator did not nip this thread way back at the source.
I agree, lets keep this forum fairly focussed on model railway topics. I have bailed out of other, interesting forums because they deviated into all manner of off topic matters including politics, alleged "friendly" snipes at nationalities "in good humour" which erupt into less than congienial exchanges.
Lets keep on topic.

The pro wrestler Eddie Guerrero has died.
He was only 38 and had 3 daughters and a wife. his kids were 14, 9 and 3. I will say a prayer because now at christmas they will have no father. Please remember this. While we celebrate with our familys they have lost there father.
Let us mourn in our own way and not make this topic flaming. He was a goodd christian so hes gone to a better place. He was a good man that was loved by millions.

May he rest in peace.
He was a great man and loved his fans and most importantly, his family.

Pavariangoo,

Sorry for the loss of you idol, has to be a harsh day for his family! I see you were almost linched here, called a TROLL, given allot of greif! Some people feed like chickens on giving opinions to others, and have no remorse about what they say it, and never think about what they are saying to others and reading between the lines counting how many words, TOTAL words you have typed! Ripping at you and trying to drive you down in the ground, and saying "THREAD ENDS NOW" so they have the upper hand!

Do yourself a favor and hold your head high and show yourself as the better man, you are not a so called TROLL!

You are not alone bud! I have been in this forum for about a week now, and belong to other forums. I have never seen so much bashing that others love to give to others, and think the name calling, and other abuse before! We have some members that spend way to much time preaching to others about TROLLS and labeling members TROLLS, and telling others not to respond to these so called TROLL post! Telling everyone to let it die and fade away! They need to do what they want the rest of us to do! Don't reply to the post if it does not interest them! None of this would have happened if they would have not left there opininated post and ignored it, instead of feeding more fuel to it, and getting you more upset. It got way out of hand, that's easy to see. Just walk away bro an let it go, they are not going to stop, but push you harder and make you more angry! Its not worth it!

I dont get it

Rosa Parks died not too long ago, a Monumental American figure of the 20th century, the spark that lighted the civil rights movement and changed history, even honored with laying in state in the Capital rotunda. Didnt see a single note here about it, but a wrestler I've never heard of garners 3 pages of hoopla ???

I just dont get it.

   Have fun with your trains
