Rex,

Soundwise, yes it would. However I have searched all the specs available online and they don't give different sizes for different models, so I presume they are all the same size loaded with different sounds. This will work fine for S or O gauge locos but will be too big for HO scale. I haven't called Tony's yet for size clarification.....

Yes, calling Tony's would be the best way to go. I have only seen one size spec myself.

since soundtraxx already makes a decoder for the bachmann 3 truck shay i think it's unlikely they'll do a tsunami version . when i get my tsunami i'll pop my shay open to see if it will fit , but i don't think so

Haven't tried that one. Might be a bit too thick. The wiper would have a long way to "fall" to get to the metal on the wheel. I have used just plain scotch tape for a quick install. Finger nail polish works very well, extremely hard and thick finish.

I've never understood the sound bytes other than for what sounds are actually avaliable. The "quality" of a sound byte played on a computer sound card and its speakers is going to be totally different than that which will be played via the sound unit and speaker in the locomotive.

The sound bytes are different when played on my computer since it has surround sound with seven speakers and a large woofer. The models cannot compete.

Judging from those soundbytes, somebody at BLI went to work for Soundtraxx.
