Overland Models- AlCo PA-1 / PA-4

This post is to inform any 1 that has bought this model and has found that the unit is very noisey, and would like info on how to Modify it!

I had recently bought on ebay a OMI -ALCo PA-4 D&H (OMI5742) for $295. THe unit is plated silver to look like polished SS ,I am running DCC for my layout so preceded to open the unit to install NCE D13SRJ decoder. Upon testing the units drive found that the motor was very loud or sounded like it was growling. Then being disappointed decided to modify the unit with a Athearn Genesis Motor that I had removed from a Funit I have. The modification took only 5 hrs and I was back to installing my decoder.
