At the scale you're asking about, those are ride-on trains. There are some advertised in Garden Railways Magazine by a company called Riding Railkits, 353 MacPherson Drive, Corbeil, Ontario, Canada. Their web site is http://www.ridingrailkits.com

Actually one of the main magazines for outdoor riding type trains is Live Steam. They have ads for manufacturers of steam, gas, and electric powered equipment. They also have club information so you can find a group near you.

ndbprr: Look up Live Steam Magazine for information on very large scale. 1.5 inch scale is run on 7.25" gauge in the northeast and europe. West of the Allaganies it's 7.5 inch gauge. I use 7.5 inch here in Texas. If you would like to drop me a line with E-mail I'll try and be of more help.

Join the "live diesel" yahoo group. That is the scale and gauge they are interested in.
Most 1 1/2" scale in the USA seems to be done with & 1/2" gauge, at least in the south.
This is a pic of my "Lill Gasser" switcher. It has a 3 1/2 hp Briggs lawnmower engine.

And then you have live steamers.

And with 1 1/2" scale, you can even bring the dog. lol
