N scale grain elevator

I am planning to model a large N scale grain elevator with concrete bins. I could buy commercial bins, but prefer to model them from scratch. Does anyone have a suggestion about how to model a series of these connected round bins (actual measurements approx 1 1/2" in diameter X 10" tall).

Plastic pipe works quite well and is advailbe in sizes that should work. I've used it for tanks and it works well. The only thing I've found is it can be scracthed up when you get it so it takes a little sanding. It takes paint good and and can be glued with plastic cement

I would use the cardboard rolls inside of paper towel rolls, it's a cheap way to go but could be really effective if painted right. Either that or get a few of those Cornerstone ADM concrete grain silo kits, which would be a lot more costly.
