Buy only the locomotives you can use (50????)buy a kit and build it, wouldn't that seem the logical route? why turn your layout into a storage area for stuff that will never be built or used ever, I've been to too many estate sales where the wife is tryng to unload boxes of train stuff (a lot in new boxes that Clem had for 25 years) and people at the sale "was the guy off his rocker?" most of the stuff goes for pennies as all the people there have no idea about model railroading, now I know model train manufacturers stay in business.

No, Bob. Everything I have is completely finished and done. There is almost nothing left to do on anything.............

(sounds of uproarious laughter is heard. Wave after wave of laughs, guffaws and snickers engulf us. Several "Yeah, right!"'s are heard. My nose is growing........)

I can't even begin to describe how much work I have to do, both on and off the layout. It's overwhelming at times (this is one of those times!). There is so much to do that I often don't know where to start. Why do I do this to myself? I guess I'm not alone, though.

I am learning some self-control over new purchases. I really don't NEED any more and I'm doing the best I can to control what I WANT! Now if I can just get myself motivated to get some things done around here.............

Darrell, befuddled, but quiet...for now

Yep! That's me.Maybe not to the extent you describe. But it's nice. If you get tired of one thing, you can move on to something else. I just make sure I keep stuff organized so they don't get mixed up or lost.

I'm always eagerly hunting for news of a new locomotive release either in MR or online and start salivating when I see something I want.

The thing is I have about 10 years worth of projects (including my mostly unfinished layout) siting in my work room. I have over 50 locomotives that I can choose from to either switch my shelf layout or take to the club. I have structures that need building, various car kits that are waiting for me to start them and I know I will probably die before getting to half of them.

Does this desciption fit any of you out there?
