Help! Kato E8/9 Low profile wheels?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 25, 2005 10:04 AM
Can someone confirm whether Kato has a low profile wheelset on its E8/9s that will run on code 55 N scale? I see a hot item on ebay but if it won't work on code 55 I won't bid. Also digitrax has a decoder that they say is plug and play. Can anyone confirm this also? Auction ends in 10 hours.[:D]
Thanks guys!

Hello
I have 4 kato E8/9s and they are low profile wheels, but i am not sure about the code 55 track because i have Kato track. The digitrax decoder for the E8/9 is either a DN145K old number or DN163KOA new number and they install very easy.

Thanks 64. If they indeed are a low profile wheel I am sure they will run on Atlas code 55. but it would be nice if there were another E8/9 owner running them on 55 to be sure. I have 4 hours left before end of auction and price is still very good. But I'm sure it will be sniped and I will lose out. Any owners running Katos please respond!!!
Thanks again

I got sniped in the end!! Bummer. I could of put in a higher maximum bid but really was feeling guilt pangs spending that much money. So I let it go. I would have had to bid on the2 sets of 4 car passenger sets that were listed. It would have set me back quite a bit.

I can say for sure that surfing train stuff on ebay is just as addicting as most other vices.
All you out there that do it know what I'm talking about.

Oh well I'm off to the train room to pout for awhile.
