The Last Mile
Posted by pj1775 on Saturday, September 24, 2005 11:15 PM
Hey Everyone:
Just wanted to let you know that I just finished my "last scale mile" of track laying. Wohoo! What a feeling! Trains are running great. Now on to other inter-layout projects.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend,
PJ

Congrats, PJ! Great feeling, isn't it?

Nice if you could post some pictures sometime.

Darrell, enviously quiet...for now

Ah, yes. I remember laying the last piece of track. (It was actually my dad, as I was 5 at the time)
There were photos, and a last spike ceremony.
Now for the extensive yards, eh?

I am down to finishing the staging area, and the mainline will be connected again. Still have some trackage in the terminal area to complete, but the yard ladders are in, and the ground throws are installed.
Once I have the railroad 'running' again, I will tear out the entire branch line and redo it(about 20' of main track, plus sidings). I drilled all of the holes for the 'feeder' drops(#22 wire) at each peice of track, and will attach them to the 'bus' maybe by this next W/E.
