I use them to extract the bolster king pins from N scale trucks. The thin edges get under the pin lip and you can pry it up, and they don't crush it like a pliers might.

I use an Xacto Knife to trim nails. I use my sprue cutters for cutting ties, wire, just about everything

Use them to grab coupler box screws in those places that fingers cant fit.

Don't use them for ANYTHING harder than plastic, unless you don't want them to be sprue nippers anymore.
Same goes for wire cutters meant for copper wire. DO NOT cut music wire and other hard metals with them, it WILL ruin them. Also track cutters - they are meant to cut soft metals like nickle-silver and brass, not hardened spring wire!
