I live in Waldorf and I know what you mean, however you have more shops to choose from. If you go from Andrews on the beltway counterclockwise, take exit 25A , US Route 1 to Laurel. At the corner of Rt.1 and Main Street in Laurel is Peach Creek Shops (201 Main Street). 100% trains and at a discount.

Taking the beltway Clockwise and crossing into Virginia take exit 54A, Braddock Road west. At the first traffic light turn left and it will take you to Grandad's (5260-A Port Royal Road) which is on the right. Mostly trains, with many detailing parts, but everything is pretty much list price.

Of course in downtown Baltimore you have M.B. Kleins (162 N. Gay Street).
100 % trains and everything is discounted, usually 20 % or more. (www.ModelTrainStuff.com)

In the next few weeks there are two terrific shows. The first is the weekend of the 24th and 25th of September at Mainline Hobbie Supply in Blue Ridge Summit, PA.
A little drive, but worth it. This is their annual OPEN HOUSE. You get a booklet which lists 15-20 home layouts that you can tour that day, as well as refreshments and specials at the shop. See their ad on page 17 of the October MR or check their website at www.mainlinehobby.com.

The Great Scale Model Train (www.gsmts.com) show in Timonium Md is coming up on the weekend of October 8th and 9th. This is argueably one of the finest train shows in the country.

On Saturday, October 15th, there will be a slide show and get together for the southern Maryland area railfans at the restored station in LaPlata, south of Waldorf.

Every Tuesday night I am a part of an operations group. You would be more than welcome to observe and join a session.

Are you in the area permanently or temporarily? Email me through the forum if you have any further questions or if you have time to get together if you like. I could possibly arrange some layout tours in the area.

Dale - your info is great - I will shop both stores this week - here temporarily working on a project at Andrews - like to browse shops and buy something when I am on the road - plus grandson is now interested in trains, so I send him something from out of town - thanks for your help - Terry
