I like your method for the scraped paint [tup]

Marty, can't you just leave those cars outside and get weathered [;)]

Here are 2 pictures from the layout, I am working with lighting and color issues. Thinking about buying some professional photography lights that can reproduce outdoor light. The girlfriend gave the okay, of course she will want to use it, but still a win for me [:P]

Great pictures from everyone so far. But still not enough to cover my model train picture fix.

Well it's not really at finished level, heck it's down right ugly, but this is what I've been working on. It is the hoist house of a "craftsman" silver mine. It is one of 6 or 7 structures in the mine complex. Hopefully it will look better rusted up a little. The off color is real oxidation. I got this on eBay and it was "pre-weathered"

Oh yeah, I put that clothes pin in there because it has become one of my favorite tools. I couldn't get anything sone on this kit without them.

David
have you thought about cheaper halegin lights that come with outdoor yard light sets.? they are low voltage and can be used for many things .
I don't know about in door lights tho. Its been awhile.
Plus, whats this with ,"the girl friend said i could stuff"??? Sounds wiped to me.
My wife does not say much as long as the bills stay ,,payed.[;)][:p]

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

I am a kept man. Hehe. Actually anything "big" she notices and I get grilled, so when I let it be her idea, it usually is easier on the ears.

Hi all,

Lots of inspiring work as I usually find on his thread. Here's some photos I took during some layout tours in Ohio this weekend. [I posted them as a separate topic but nobody was interested.]

Wow! Pretty cool pics Ken! Here are just a couple more from me. I was able to get some more lane stripping done on my road. (Please ignore all the "junk" on the layout. Like a lot of people, I've got about 5,793 projects going all at once.) [;)]

Heh, I just had to bump this back to the top[:P]. David, I got that method from Mellow-Mike. Well, sorta. A slight variation.

Now, about your photos. That first one looks great. It looks like a late afternoon shot, with the shadows and all. The second looks like a storm is brewing, but that makes it look good to me. Both of them are good, in my opinion.[tup]

Kevin, I really like your asphalt roads[tup]! What did you use for the striping? I've had the best results using 'dulux gold' decals for the yellow stripes, and light gray decals for the white. This allowed me to nudge it into position, without worrying about them coming loose later on (a problem with the adhesive-backed racing stripes).

Thanks, Ken. I am using 1/16" R/C car and airplane pin stripes for the lane stripes. It's working out pretty good for me so far.
