Anyone have experience with or information on Zimo DCC
Posted by chrismay on Thursday, September 15, 2005 9:45 PM
Does anyone have any expereince and/or informed opinions on Zimo DCC equipment. I am not really interested in hearing much about decoders. More interested in Control Systems, Command Stations, Throttles, etc. What are the capabilities, pros, cons, etc.

I know that DCC brand discussions can get kinda "involved" with lots of opinions. I just want the straight facts on this brand of equip. Everyone has their favorites and reasons for them and I respect that, but I have already looked into the other brands on my own and am asking about this one because I couldn't find alot of info searching online.

Thanks

Chris

I believe ZIMO is a German company. It's funny, when I saw the new hand held in the MR e-letter, I checked out their website but I don't anything beyond what I saw on their website. I would be interested myself to hear what ZIMO users think.

Take care,

Check over at the Atlas RR forum under the DCC section. There are several guys over there who use and answer questions about the Zimo system. I have no personal experience other than I've heard that it is very expensive and very good stuff.

Here is a link to the forum... http://forum.atlasrr.com/

Good luck!

and look at the post by steffd. I think he also auctioned a Zimo off on ebay a month or so ago.
