Parts needed...Lifelike Scenemaster Old Time Passenger Car Diaphragms!
Posted by Rotorranch on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 10:53 PM
I was just getting ready to paint the last 3 of my Lifelike Scenemaster Old Time passenger cars for my Southern RR rail fan trip train, and when I opened the box, there are no diaphragms on it! [:0]

Would any of y'all happen to have a pair of diaphrams for one of these cars? Or even a whole car? ( Complete or not, any condition, as long as the diaphragms are intact ).

Thanks in advance!

Rotor

I am not familiar with Scenemaster cars, but I have some old Walther's diaphrams that were never used if those would do you any good. I think I have two pair.

csmith...I appreciate the offer, and may take you up on it, but I'd prefer to stay with the same diaphragms that came on the cars, as I really want them to match, and don't want to change the other 7 cars that are already done, or the 3 left to do.

The Scenemaster cars are out of production, as far as I can tell. They probably aren't prototypically correct for what I'm doing, but what the heck. Neither is the Tyco/Mehano/AHM Chattanooga 0-8-0/ now Southern 4501 2-8-2 that I'm pulling with. But it runs good, and looks ok by me, and it was my first attempt at painting an HO scale train, so I like it just fine. I painted the loco and the other 7 cars about 10 years ago, and ran out of decals before I finished it. I got more decals, but never got around to painting the other cars back then.

Wish I'd noticed it didn't have diaphragms 10 years or so ago when I bought the things. Might have been easier to get diaphragms back then. [sigh]
