If I remember ot its a super modified GP-7 or GP-9 trying to look like a GP-60. I do not remember if it kept the 567 or they squeesed a 710 on it. At any rate the EMD Demonstrator(s) was the only one(s) built.

It was a reamanufactured locomotive that never caught on. It was meant, like the GP15-1 to compete with railways remanufacturing their own locos.

I don't think it could have been a Geep - those are 3 axle trucks under the thing, aren't they?

IIRC, EMD built 3 of them off of the frames from some ex BN Geep's. The idea was for railroads to TI older locomotives and EMD would build up a new Geep off of the frame. And those are standard 2 axle Blomberg's(from the old Geep). The idea just did not catch on. EMD tried it before with the GP15, and GE has tried the same approach with their 'Super 7' line of engines. Just not a lot of business generated with these models.
Nice HO model in the pix....
