Broadway Mikado's
Posted by blabride on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 6:38 PM
Being that the undecorated's are hard to find anyone try removing the lettering on one of the decorated ones? I have removed the lettering on a Weaver O mike but it was brass. I am worried the BLI will have markings over plastic rivets. Is this a problem. I used polishing cloths and solvast. Anybody have any better ideas?
Thanks

A gray pencil eraser (like the ones on a technical pencil) does a good job. Take your time though. Mechanically remove the lettering with the eraser, checking frequently so that you don't "over-erase". (Would hate to hear that your 2-8-2 disappeared on you.)

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.

I had the same situation nothing I tried worked. Finaly I repainted the tender & then added my decals. I used Polyscale Steam Engine Black. It is a perfect match for the colour BLI uses.
